Below is an example of the notices that have been sent out by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) and the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) regarding sampling and testing of private water wells in the area of Willowbrook, Darien, and Burr Ridge. The groundwater samples will be tested for ethylene glycol and ethylene oxide as part of the response to the Sterigenics environmental issue.
Please be aware that the Village of Willowbrook does not maintain any groundwater wells as part of the Village’s water system. The Willowbrook public water supply (PWS) system derives 100% of its water, which is supplied through the system, from the DuPage Water Commission, which in turn obtains potable water from the City of Chicago (i.e., Lake Michigan).”
