Update received August 8 - Closure continues through end of August
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has informed the Village that their project to rehabilitate the I-55 bridge is behind schedule and the southbound lane of Madison Street must remain closed through the end of August.
Northbound remains open
Northbound Madison Street will remain open. A detour for southbound Madison Street is still in place along IL Route 83 (Kingery Hwy) and Central Ave/S Frontage Road.
