The Willowbrook Parks & Recreation Master Plan Focus Group meeting for tonight has been postponed. New date to follow.
The Village of Willowbrook is seeking residents to help with planning the future of the Parks & Recreation Department!
In 2012, the Village of Willowbrook developed the first comprehensive 5-Year Master Plan for the Park & Recreation Department. This Master Plan served as the culmination of a planning study conducted to determine the recreational needs of the community and to establish a Capital Plan to identify potential improvements to the parks.
Using the Master Plan, the Village submitted an application, and was awarded, a $400,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This grant is currently being used to renovate Willow Pond Park.
It is now time to update the Master Plan for the next 5-year period. This is where we need your help. As part of the development of the updated Master Plan, a focus group needs to be created to discuss thoughts, ideas, and opinions that will help guide the Village in the future.
We will be looking for residents that live throughout the Village, from single-family homes to multi-family developments. The goal is to obtain representation from all areas of the community, limited to 15 – 20 total individuals.
If you are interested in participating and becoming involved in the future of the parks, please contact John Fenske at 630-920-2251.
