Repairs to the Waterford Park tennis courts are expected to begin as early as June 7. Once it begins (and if nature cooperates) the entire project should not take more than three to four weeks. The work includes removal and replacement of the perimeter fencing, painting the perimeter fencing line posts, grinding the old surface, installation of an overlay of new asphalt and color seal coating/striping. Perhaps the biggest delay will seem to occur following the asphalt overlay when we have to wait about two weeks, since the asphalt must thoroughly cool before color seal coating and striping is applied.
While the rest of the park will remain open during construction, park patrons should use extreme caution since there will often be vehicles entering and leaving the park. Signage will remind everyone to avoid the construction area. Parents are also strongly urged to counsel their children to stay clear of the construction equipment at all times.
Residents who observe anyone either within the construction area or on construction equipment after hours should call the Willowbrook Police at 911 immediately. The cooperation of everyone and the diligence of Waterford Park neighbors such as you will help this project be completed safely and quickly. If residents have any questions, please call Wally Righton, Superintendent of Parks & Recreation at 630.920.2251.
