[ARCHIVED] An important alert from Mayor Trilla regarding Coronavirus

Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health announce:

“Actions to Combat a Resurgence of COVID-19

The announcement covers the new mitigation steps the State will apply in the event of COVID-19 spikes like those that have recently occurred across the country.  The second part of this announcement includes the State action to expand the health regions under the Restore Illinois from the current 4 regions  (we were in Region 4 with Chicago) to 11 Regions!

DuPage County will now share with Kane County the designation of being in the West Suburban Region #8.  I, and the several Mayors that have been diligently working toward an expansion of the regions, wholeheartedly support the newly defined health regions.

With this comes a serious warning to all those who are running businesses and have relaxed mask requirements.  THIS IS NO TIME TO RELAX.  Not for any business or any resident; masks must be worn, there can be no exceptions.  The health of our Village, our families, and our businesses depend upon it.  We do not want to risk a shut down because of non-compliance.  Even though we are now in Region 8, we remain under all the guidelines of Phase 4 Restore Illinois.

The latest update to the Restore Illinois Plan is  “Actions to Combat a Resurgence of COVID-19” (PDF), a 3 page document that introduces the 11 region map, the health metrics being used to indicate a resurgence, as well as the mitigation actions that can be used in each setting type to help combat a resurgence.  (Please note that the list is not exhaustive and other industries will be added if indicated by the data.)

To avoid being placed in a situation where  the State and Illinois Department of Health must take action to prevent uncontrollable spread, we must remain diligent and committed to the health and safety of all.    Please remember the 3 W’s:

WEAR  your cloth mask- the mask must cover your nose and your mouth

WASH  your hands often or use hand sanitizer

WATCH  your distance – Maintain 6 feet apart

We are in this together, and Together we can keep Willowbrook safe for all.
