As part of its Fall program offerings, the Willowbrook Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor its own version of TV’s “Biggest Loser” Weight Loss Challenge beginning in September for teens and adults, ages 18 and up. The program features personalized coaching, instruction on proper nutrition, meal replacement options, encouragement to exercise, metabolism and body composition test and group support. Class members will weigh in and consult with their coaches each week.
Participants in this program offered elsewhere have enjoyed an average weight loss of over 19 pounds and 10 inches per person. Individual results may vary. From each registration fee, $25.00 will be allocated for prize money that will be awarded to the top three participants at the end of the session. The actual amount of prize money available will depend upon the number of class members. Each participant is strongly urged to consult with his/her physician before enrolling.
Both morning and evening classes are available. The eleven week sessions will be offered on Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 AM beginning September 7, as well as on Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30 PM beginning September 9. Sessions will be held at the Willowbrook Village Hall, 7760 Quincy Street. Cost per session is $50 for residents and $60 for non-residents.
Registration for this program, as well as other activities offered by the Willowbrook Parks and Recreation Department Fall Fun Guide, begins for Village residents on August 23. Non-resident registration begins on August 30. After August 23, full details on all activities will be available on the Village website, www.willowbrookil.org or by calling (630) 323-8215.
