A message from Mayor Trilla and Chief Schaller...
ComEd has just issued an important NEWS RELEASE (PDF) regarding attempted scams and scammers involving energy charges and past due bills.

We encourage our residents and businesses to be aware of the fraudulent tactics being used: scam emails, phone calls and in some cases, individuals approaching homeowners and businesses portraying themselves as ComEd employees.

ComEd’s tip to identify their actual employees:
  • All ComEd field employees wear a uniform with the ComEd logo, including shirt and safety vest.

  • ComEd employees visibly display a company ID badge with the ComEd logo and employee’s name.

We encourage all residents and our business community to please read the press release and become familiar of what to avoid. If you are suspicious of ANY energy-related request call ComEd immediately at 1-800-334-7661. Businesses can call 1-877-426-6331.
